Indian Times: Kiowa Tribe Purchases Indian City (Apr 12, 2008)
This week on Indian Times, after receiving a million dollar loan from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux tribe of Minnesota, the Kiowa Nation has purchased Indian City USA in Anadarko and discovered hidden treasures in the museum. A military contract between the US Marine Corps and the Choctaw Nation will lead to the construction of new facilities and the creation of about 100 new jobs in McAlester to manufacture tactical vehicle replacement trailers. Choctaw Manufacturing & Development CEO Steve Benefield describes these all-purpose all-terrain trailers. And Oklahoma Comanche Jjane Myers has been selected to head the new, American Indian National Center for Television and Film. The Center hopes to be the springboard for new opportunities for Native Americans in the entertainment industry.

This is Native American Heritage Month on the University of Oklahoma Campus. Here are some upcoming events:

There will be a Heritage Walk on Monday 4/14 starting in front of Dale Hall at 10am. The OU Spring Stomp Dance will be on Friday, April 18th, beginning at 5pm in the Lloyd Noble Center.
