Indian Times: DHS Needs Native Foster Parents (Jun 27, 2008)
This week on Indian Times, Department of Human Services Tribal Coordinator Tracy White of the Kickapoo Nation talks about the need for more Native American foster parents. Find about more about how to become a foster parent.

Host Susan Shannon traveled to Quartz Mountain Lodge to speak with Valerie Dee Naranjo, who was teaching percussion at the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute. Naranjo is in NBC?s Saturday Night Live Band, did arrangements for the Broadway production of The Lion King and worked with composer Elliott Goldenthal on his Academy Award winning score for the film Frida. She played the African Marimba or gyil (pronounced gee-lee) on that film score. She?ll start her 13th season with SNL this September.
