Indian Times: Oklahomans at the Sundance Film Festival (Feb 23, 2009)
This week on Indian Times, the focus is on two of Oklahoma?s talented Native actors and one filmmaker. Casey Camp-Horinek (Ponca) and Richard Whitman (Euchee/Pawnee) talk about their experiences at the Sundance Film Festival last month. They made the rounds for the film Barking Water, in which they are the leads. This film was written and directed by Sterlin Harjo. Harjo is from the Seminole and Creek tribes of Oklahoma. Harjo received the good news last week that his film has been selected to be shown at the prestigious film festival New Directors/New Films. This film festival is sponsored by the Museum of Modern Art and the Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York City.
