Indian Times: 2009 Native American Prevention Services Conference in Norman (Apr 13, 2009)
This week on Indian Times, Jane Gobel Clark from the American Indian Institute at OU's College of Continuing Education speaks about the upcoming 2009 Native American Prevention Services conference. The conference with take place in Norman April 20th and 21st. For more information on how you can attend, go to American Indian Institute. And here are some upcoming events in Oklahoma?s Indian Country:
On Monday, April 13th, the first of five episodes of the series We Shall Remain will air on PBS. The series covers from first contact right up to the 2nd Wounded Knee in 1973. This production is an unprecedented collaboration between native actors, writers and directors and non-native filmmakers. The first episode is called After The Mayflower, and it begins at 8pm Monday on OETA.
The 19th annual OU Stomp Dance will be held at Norman North High School on Friday April 17th. Doors will open at 5pm, supper will be served at 6 and the stomp dance will continue until 11pm. The next day on April 18th, the 95th Annual OU Spring Powwow at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman will begin with doors opening at 2pm, gourd dance will start at 3pm, supper will be served at 5pm and grand entry will be at 7pm.
