Indian Times: Oklahoma invesment firm chosen by US Treasury (Jan 04, 2010)
This week on Indian Times, the US Treasury Department has selected a native-owned Oklahoma investment firm as their financial agent. The Oklahoma based Avondale Investments was founded by Don Dillingham who is from the Muscogee Creek Nation. He?s also a former OU professor. For more information on this go to www.ustreas.gov.
The late Mary G Ross (Cherokee) was the only woman and the only Native American who was part of a super secret think tank called the Skunk Works that was in the beginnings of the Space Race. She died earlier this year leaving almost a half a million dollars to the National Museum of the American Indian.

The Tribal Government Institute is hosting a conference called ?Rebuilding a Strong Foundation? to be held at the Hard Rock Hotel in Catoosa, Oklahoma on February 1st & 2nd. Speakers from across the nation will be giving workshops on how tribes can do business with the government and military, there will be updates on requirement for stimulus dollars, marketing opportunities as well as new small business administration laws.
