Indian Times: Elouise Cobell Sends Out Letter to Indian Country (Feb 20, 2010)
This week on Indian Times, last month?s Supreme Court decision to throw out the centerpiece of the McCain-Feingold legislation may have a negative impact on Native American tribes. Tribes already have a limited impact on lawmakers, now they?ll have to compete with large corporations and big money.

Blackfeet activist Elousie Cobell sent out an open letter via her website to answer a few of the most frequently asked questions on the settlement agreement. To email a question to her go to askelouise@cobellsettlement.com or you can send a letter to Ask Elouise, Cobell Settlement, PO Box 9577, Dublin, Ohio 43017.

In honor of Black History Month, I spoke with Oklahoman and African American Doug Mitchell. His name may not ring a bell, but he has been behind the training of young journalists of color for many years at NPR. Mitchell talks about the importance of thinking outside your own box. More of Mitchell?s interview will be heard on the March 1st edition of Oklahoma Voices.
