Indian Times: Native American Youth Language Fair (Apr 02, 2010)
This week on Indian Times, the Oklahoma Native American Youth Language Fair takes place on Monday and Tuesday at the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History in Norman. Curator of Native Languages Dr. Mary Linn talks about how it all began and what will go on this year. We also hear from Candessa Teehee Morgan (Cherokee), coordinator for the Language Fair. She oversees the judging of the eight language related competitions including film and video.

Upcoming Native Events:

  • The University of Oklahomaís Native American Student/Alumni/Faculty/Staff Art Show is putting out a call for art. The deadline to submit is April 7th, and the show will be held at the Jacobson House in Norman. For more information call the Jacobson House at 366-1667 or Susan Shannon at 325-1133.


  • The Jacobson House, The Standing Buffalo Art Gallery and Tribes 131 Fine Arts are all members of the Norman Arts Council. The NAC is proud to support Native American heritage, and invites the public to the Community KickstART April 9th at the Firehouse Art Center, and the 2nd Friday Circuit of Art.
