Oklahoma Voices: FOI Oklahoma Fall 2009 First Amendment Congress (Mar 21, 2010)
In recognition of Sunshine Week 2010, KGOU presents excerpts from the 2009 First Amendment Congress presented by Freedom of Information Oklahoma, recorded October 29, 2009.

FOI Oklahoma's annual First Amendment Congress features one day for students and one day for professionals. From the professional day, the first hour presents remarks from Marvin Kalb on the state of journalism today. Mr. Kalb is formerly of both CBS and then NBC news, and now an educator, and host of The Kalb Report on public television.

The second hour presents remarks from Barbara Miller, Associate Professor and Government Documents Librarian at Oklahoma State University. She covers a range of websites which can help citizens and journalists continue access to a wide range of government documents.

The second hour also includes a panel discussion on the future of journalism. The panel consists of Marvin Kalb as the moderator, and panelists Kelly Burley, General Manager of KOSU-FM, Mark Thomas, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Press Association, Gloria Trotter, President of the Oklahoma Press Association and co-publisher of The Countywide & Sun in Tecumseh, and Joey Senat, Professor of Journalism at Oklahoma State University.
