Successes and Problems of Increased Gambling (Feb 03, 2006)
Last week marked the one-year anniversary of the legalization of blackjack and poker at Oklahomaís tribal casinos. That also meant a new business opportunity for Skip Davis and his wife, who co-founded the Aces 777 Casino Training School in Oklahoma City. KGOU pays a visit to the school and speaks with Jim Boyd, one of the students. We also hear from some Oklahomans who are disappointed with the expanded gaming opportunities. A member of Gamblersí Anonymous in the Tulsa area says that attendance at her groupís weekly meetings has increased dramatically, and state Representative Thad Balkman discusses legislation heís introduced to tackle the problem (about 7 minutes).
