Crews Clear Snow in Oklahoma City (Dec 08, 2005) The weather caused some businesses in Central Oklahoma to close early yesterday, and many residents opted to spend the evening at home, with the heat turned up full blast. But at least one office building in the metro was bustling, as workers toiled away throughout the night. While most people were asleep, employees at Oklahoma City’s Public Works Central Maintenance Facility -- located at Southwest 15th and Portland -- coordinated the dispatch of several dozen trucks to keep city roads free of ice and snow and ensure safe conditions for morning commuters. Street Maintenance Division Superintendent Mike DeGiacomo took a break in the midst of his 12-hour shift to give KGOU a tour of the facility (4:00).
