Oklahoma City Iraqi American Reacts to Election (Dec 16, 2005)
Citizens of Iraq showed up in droves yesterday to elect a 4-year, 275-member parliament to rule their country. Polling centers in 15 countries around the world also made voting possible for the one and a half million Iraqis living abroad, including some 240-thousand across the United States. KGOU speaks with Ban Sarhan – an Iraqi American living in Oklahoma City – about her thoughts on the election and her resettlement in the state after insurgents killed her family members (7:20).
