Ground Blessing Ceremony for the Native American Cultural Center and Museum (Nov 04, 2005)
Many of Oklahoma’s well known faces from politics and tribal governments gathered near the intersection of I-35 and I-40 in Oklahoma City on Wednesday. They took part in a celebration to mark the start of construction on a museum that will “nurture the creation of traditional cultural arts and the contemporary expression; and facilitate the ongoing documentation and discussion of Native American people’s culture and history.” It’s expected to be completed sometime after 2007. Guest include Deputy Director of the Native American Cultural and Educational Authority Gina Howard and Seminole Nation Chief and former State Senator Kelly Haney (4:00).
