Not facing a Republican challenger, Democrat and political newcomer
Al McAffrey became Oklahoma’s first, openly gay state legislator when he won his party’s primary election late last month. But he says his sexual orientation did not play a role in his campaign, and he prefers to focus instead on issues like healthcare, education and reducing the rate of car insurance. We speak with McAffrey about his recent win and its significance (about 7 minutes).
