Cross-Country Women’s Air Race Departs from OKC (Jun 20, 2007)
Forty-five teams of pilots departed Wiley Post Airport in Oklahoma City yesterday morning for the Air Race Classic, an annual, cross-country women’s speed race. This year’s route is 24-hundred miles long, with stops in 8 states before crossing the border and ending up in Saint John, New Brunswick on Saturday. We speak with pilots Terry Carbonell and Ruby Sheldon, as well as race Chairperson Charlene Davis (4 minutes).
