New Documentary Profiles the “First Lady of Rock and Roll” (Jun 07, 2007)
The 7th Annual deadCenter Film Festival began Wednesday evening and runs through Saturday in downtown Oklahoma City. Through the weekend, thousands of film enthusiasts will screen more than 100 features, short films and documentaries, including one about a small-town Oklahoma girl who changed music history in 1954 when she became the first woman to sing rock and roll. It’s called The Sweet Lady with the Nasty Voice: The Story of Wanda Jackson. We speak with the film’s Director and Producer Joanne Fish (4 minutes).
