Congressman Frank Lucas Discusses the Farm Bill (Nov 14, 2007)
Oklahomaís Third District US Congressman Frank Lucas is concerned about the 2007 Farm Billís prospects. Itís currently bogged down in Senate negotiations, and he fears that lawmakers might not settle their disagreements by tomorrow, when they leave for the Thanksgiving holiday. The bill costs nearly 300 billion dollars and pays for farm subsidies, food stamps and everything from conservation to trade. Reporter Sara Sciammacco speaks with Lucas about the provisions of the bill, its cost and how it would affect small family farmers in Oklahoma (4:00).
