Discovering Oklahoma’s
Edible Plants and Herbs (Jun 24, 2008)

Hungry? Before you reach for that Mexican tomato or Costa Rican banana, Jackie Dill wants you to look out your backyard window, cause there’s food all around us! For close to a decade, Dill has been leading groups of people through the woods near her home in Coyle, Oklahoma, teaching them how to find edible and medicinal plants and herbs that haven’t traveled thousands of miles to get to the supermarket shelf. KGOU’s Scott Gurian introduces us to the traditional practice known as wildcrafting or foraging.
