![]() ![]() Tomorrow evening at 7 p.m., musicians will take up their instruments to raise money to help pay for the Dr. B Health Clinic in Uganda, Africa, all motivated by the life, and death, of Dr. Hal Belknap. His dedication to the community of Norman and the youth of the metro, along with his lifelong practice of medicine, led to the creation of tomorrow's concert. Three women involved in the event came into the KGOU studios to talk about the clinic and the concert. We'll first hear from Amy Williams who worked with Dr. Belknap in scouting. Also joining the conversation is his widow, JoAnn Belknap, and cellist Erin Yeaman. Musicians performing include Erin Yeaman, cello; Cynthia Cotright, piano; Amy I-Lin Cheng, piano; Chad Burrow, clarinet; and Larry Reed, bassoon. The program features selections from Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Leonard, Bizet and Rotta. The concert begins at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 211 W. Comanche in Norman. ![]() « back ![]() |
