State Revenue Collections Increase (Oct 13, 2010)

State officials say collections to Oklahoma's general revenue fund for the first quarter of the fiscal year exceeded both the prior year and the official estimate.

A report from the state treasurer shows collections for the first quarter of fiscal year 2011 totaled $1.2 billion. That amount exceeds prior year collections by nearly seven percent and is about 4 percent more than the official estimate.

State Treasurer Scott Meacham released the latest figures yesterday. Despite the revenue climb, lawmakers are likely to still face a significant budget shortfall next year.
