Justice's Wife Contacts Anita Hill (Oct 20, 2010)

WASHINGTON (AP) — Anita Hill says she has "no intention of apologizing" for accusing then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas of sexually harassing her.

Thomas' wife left a voicemail message on Hill's office phone over the weekend, asking her to say she was sorry for the allegations that surfaced at Thomas' confirmation hearings 19 year ago.

Hill, a former University of Oklahoma Law professor, calls the request "inappropriate." She says her testimony was truthful.

After hearing the voicemail, Hill contacted the public safety office at the university where she now teaches. That office informed the FBI.

Virginia Thomas says she did not intend to offend Hill, and had hoped that they could get past something that happened long ago.

She calls the message "an olive branch."
