Columnist to deliver keynote speech at OU

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Columnist and TV host Fareed Zakaria will be the keynote speaker at a President's Associates dinner at the University of Oklahoma next week.

Zakaria will speak Monday at OU's Norman campus about "America and the Rise of the Rest."

The 46-year-old native of India is an international political analyst who writes columns for Newsweek and the Washington Post, and hosts his own program on CNN, "Fareed Zakaria GPS."

He made news in August when he returned a First Amendment award and $10,000 stipend to the Anti-Defamation League in protest of the organization's opposition to a proposed mosque near ground zero in New York City.
