Former Quest CEO Gets 9 Years in Prison (Nov 12, 2010)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A federal judge has sentenced the former CEO of an Oklahoma City energy company to nine years in prison and $5 million in restitution for illegally diverting company funds.

U.S. District Judge Stephen Friot handed down the sentence Friday to 48-year-old Jerry Dale Cash. Cash pleaded guilty in February to failing to disclose the diversion of $10 million from Quest Energy Partners, LP.

Prosecutors alleged that Cash didn't disclose transferring funds to an account he owned when he certified a financial report to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Cash was accused of spending the money on his Nichols Hills home and other personal items. Officials say he has already returned $7 million.

Cash's defense attorney, Patrick M. Ryan, didn't immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
