Indian Times: Red Feather Gala to benefit OKC Indian Clinic (Nov 12, 2010)
This week on Indian Times,  the Red Feather Gala will be happening next weekend.  It’s all to benefit the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic.  The Gala is a way to draw attention to its financial needs. This year’s Gala is beginning a new tradition - the Spirit of the Urban Indian Award, and its first honoree is Mr. Harold Hamm.  Steve Barse (Kiowa) is the Community Liaison for the Clinic, gives all the details. There are still a few tickets left and to get those call Rita Wright at 570-8332 or Andy Tittle at 922-5502.

Next Saturday the 20th, the OU Fall Benefit powwow will take place at Longfellow Middle School in Norman.  Festivities kickoff at 2pm, with the Gourd Dance, followed by supper at 5pm and a grand entry @ 7pm.  For more information you can call American Indian Student Assocation president Oliver Plumley at 405-612-6422.

On that same day, the 20th, a hands-on Caddo pottery workshop is being offered in the new Visitor Center at the American Indian Cultural Center & Museum in Oklahoma City.  To register go to their website www.aiccm.org.
