Okla. School Students Get Sick After Taking Pills (Dec 11, 2010)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - At least eight Oklahoma City middle school-age students have been taken to the hospital after they apparently ingested prescription medication that made them ill.

Oklahoma City Public Schools spokeswoman Kathleen Kennedy said Friday two students at John Marshall High School had taken the medication and were sent to nurse's office complaining of a negative reaction to the pills.

Kennedy says six other middle school-age students required medical attention.  Students from sixth grade to 12th grade attend John Marshall.

The spokeswoman says six students were taken to area hospitals by ambulance and two were driven to hospitals by their parents. Kennedy says she didn't have any of the students' conditions and what type of medication was involved.

Because of their ages, the students' names weren't released.
