Noble Mayor's Son Has One of Dad's Kidneys (Dec 12, 2010)

NOBLE, Okla. (AP) — Noble Mayor Gary Hayes has carried the idea of constitutent service to a new level. He has donated a kidney.

But the constituent in this case is more than just a voter to the 48-year-old Hayes. According to the Norman Transcript, the recipient of his kidney was his 22-year-old son, Jordan Hayes.

The younger Hayes' kidneys were damaged when he was a youngster when he suffered an over-reaction to a strep infection. Jordan Hayes says he's now feeling better than he ever has, and looking forward to the first Christmas in years that he hasn't had to schedule around regular dialysis treatments.
