OKC Students Suspended for Taking Pills (Dec 14, 2010)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City school officials have suspended four of eight John Marshall High School students who were taken to hospitals last week after reportedly taking prescription drugs.

Those four received 45-day suspensions. The other four involved in Friday's incident haven't returned to school.

A police report says a 13-year-old girl is suspected of giving anti-depressants to the students, who took them at school. The report says an assistant principal called the girl into her office, and found a pill bottle and two pills in her possession.

The police report lists one pill as Seroquel and the other as Trazadone, both antidepressants.  The report says the female students had trouble walking and slurred speech. Six were taken by ambulance to local hospitals, and two others were transported by their parents.
