UPDATE: DA Charges Terrill, Leftwich with Bribery (Dec 24, 2010)

State Rep. Randy Terrill is responding to bribery charges he faces. A statement from Terrill says the charges against him are politically motivated and he is confident he will be exonerated.

Prosecutors allege Terrill offered former state Senator Debbe Leftwich an 80,000-per-year job at the state Medical Examiner's Office near the end of the legislative session in exchange for her not seeking re-election to her south Oklahoma City Senate seat.

Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater filed the felony bribery charges against Terrill and Leftwich this week. If convicted, they could face up to two years in prison.
