Oklahoma Motorists to Hit the Holiday Road (Dec 24, 2010)
AAA Oklahoma says 802,500 Oklahomans will drive 50 miles or more from home during the holiday weekend, a 3 percent boost over 2009.

About 90 percent of Oklahomans who travel over the weekend will do so by motor vehicle.

An estimated 41,200 Oklahomans will travel by air.

Nationally, a gallon of gas costs an average of $3. The average cost in Oklahoma is $2.83, fourth lowest in the nation.

The current retail fuel prices are the highest in more than two years. AAA expects gasoline prices to continue to increase with crude oil prices now sitting at more than 90 dollars a barrel.
