SoonerPoll: Henry, Coburn, Inhofe Enjoy High Approval Ratings (Dec 24, 2010)

Overall approval ratings for Congress remain dismal, but Oklahoma’s two U.S. Senators are enjoying the highest approval ratings in recent memory.

SoonerPoll.com says Sen. Tom Coburn’s approval rating of 69.6 percent is the highest since the organization started polling in 2006. Senator Jim Inhofe isn’t far behind. A 64 percent positive mark is his highest on record.

SoonerPoll’s Keith Gaddie says the even though the two Republican senators disagree on some issues, like federal earmarks, they each serve some component of Oklahoma’s politically conservative base.

The poll numbers from October and November also show Governor Brad Henry’s approval rating has shot up after dipping a bit before the last election. Henry now has a 70.8 percent approval rating.
