Commission Approves Lower Utility Charges (Dec 31, 2010)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Corporation Commission has approved lower service charges for about 4,100 customers of the Fort Cobb Fuel Authority and its LeAnn Gas division, beginning Jan. 1.

The reductions include a drop in the monthly non-gas customer charge for LeAnn Gas from $10 to $6. For Fort Cobb Fuel customers, the reduction would be from $8 to $6.

Also approved is a 25 percent reduction in a monthly surcharge, from the current $1 per month to 75 cents, to support Irrigation Engine Replacement Programs. The programs offer Fort Cobb's agricultural customers a chance to rent natural gas-driven motors to drive their irrigation pumps so they do not have to use electric pumps.

The rates were reduced on an interim basis until a uniform tariff structure is adopted.
