Cold Air Outbreak Coming to Oklahoma (Jan 07, 2011)

Cold air filtering into Oklahoma over the next several days will drop temperatures to the lowest levels of the season.

The National Weather Service is encouraging residents to prepare for extremely cold conditions expected most of next week.

Precipitation is also likely Sunday night into Monday. Accumulation of snow is possible, especially in the northern half of the state.

Increasing winds could lead to hazardous travel conditions Monday as blowing snow reduces visibility.

Forecasters say the time to prepare for the coming cold weather is today and tomorrow.
