Flu Cases Increase in State (Jan 14, 2011)

Oklahoma is heading toward the height of flu season. A state health official says it tends to peak in February and experts are expecting to see an increase in cases in the weeks to come.

About 80 people have been hospitalized with flu complications in the past two weeks. That's more than double the total number reported since the start of September. There have been two deaths in recent months.

Seasonal flu/H1N1 vaccine is currently available at the Oklahoma City/County Health Department immunization clinic at 921 NE 23rd Street. This is a walk-in clinic and is open to everyone.
