Severe Weather Possible Across Oklahoma Friday (Apr 22, 2011)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — It could be a stormy day across most of Oklahoma.

The National Weather Service says there is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms on Friday east of a line from Altus to Taloga to Medford.

The weather service says supercell thunderstorms associated with severe weather are possible from central Oklahoma eastward. The storms could contain very large hail and damaging winds and possibly spawn an isolated tornado. The storms are expected to push eastward and move through western and northern Arkansas later on.

The weather service says it could be stormy through Monday, and additional rounds of severe weather and heavy rain will be possible.

The precipitation will be welcome in Oklahoma, which has experienced drought conditions for months.
