Senate Approves Nominations to Higher Ed Boards (Apr 26, 2011)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Senate has approved nominations to state higher education regents' boards made by Gov. Mary Fallin.

Among those approved Tuesday was the nomination of Oklahoma City Thunder chairman Clay Bennett to the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents.

The Senate also approved the nomination of retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Toney Stricklin of Lawton to the State Regents for Higher Education. The nine-member board oversees the state system of 25 colleges and universities.

Also receiving approval were Joe Hall of Elk City and Ricky Joe Davis of Guthrie to the Oklahoma State University/A&M regents. Hall will be serving his second eight-year term on that board.
