UPDATE: ME Says 9 Dead in Okla. Tornadoes (May 25, 2011)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Medical Examiner's office has confirmed a ninth death from tornadoes that tore across Oklahoma and the central U.S.

Medical Examiner's office spokeswoman Cherokee Ballard said Wednesday the latest victim was a 22-year-old man who died in Calumet. Ballard said the office is still trying to determine the cause and manner of death, but that he and the other victims had multiple blunt force injuries.

The medical examiner reports that the other victims are a 16-month-old boy who died in Piedmont; two unidentified females and two unidentified males who died in Calumet; a 63-year-old male who died in Cashion; a 58-year-old female who died in Cashion, and a 24-year-old female who died in Chickasha.

At least 15 people have died in storms in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas since Tuesday.
