Former Commander Has Impact in Hobart (May 30, 2011)
HOBART, Okla. (AP) — Retired U.S. Army General Tommy Franks is leading a three-day Celebration of Freedom this Memorial Day in the small southwestern Oklahoma town of Hobart. Franks took up residence near Hobart after retiring as the commander of U.S. Central Command in the Middle East in 2003. The General's Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum is one of the city's new attractions.
