Former Officer Testifies in Federal Trial (Jun 06, 2011)

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A former Tulsa Police officer says he and three other officers used drugs kept in squad cars to "substitute as evidence in criminal cases."

Former officer Eric Hill also testified Monday that the officers met after a May 18, 2009, drug search and agreed to turn back in money they had taken because they feared they were targets of an FBI sting.

Hill was an officer from 2005 through 2009 and has received immunity from prosecution in return for his testimony.

He was fired after an internal affairs investigation revealed he admitted stealing money during a drug arrest.

Officers Nick DeBruin, Bruce Bonham and retired Officer Harold Wells are accused of planting drugs on people in order to arrest them for drug possession and pocketing cash during an FBI sting.
