U.S. Rep. Boren Won't Seek 5th Term in 2012 (Jun 07, 2011)

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - U.S. Rep. Dan Boren (D-OK2) will not seek re-election to a 5th term, sources close to him have confirmed.

A news release from Boren's office says Boren will reveal a "significant decision" during the news conference planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday in Muskogee.

Boren was first elected to the U.S. House in 2004 and was re-elected last year to a fourth term. He is the only Democrat in the state's congressional delegation.

He is the son of University of Oklahoma President David Boren, who is a former U.S. Senator and former governor of Oklahoma.
