Oklahoma Voices: Clearing the Metro Air (Jul 31, 2011)

The federal Environmental Protection Agency postponed last week, yet again, the setting of more stringent rules for air quality standards. The agency’s decision to put off a July 29 deadline means the EPA has pushed back any new rules by the Obama administration for nearly a year. Some observers say the stricter ozone requirements have been delayed by 11 years, and some are accusing the White House of postponing the implementation of the new rules until after the November election. KGOU’s Kurt Gwartney talks clean air in central Oklahoma with Doug Rex with the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments and Michael Scroggins with Metro Transit.
