Governor Names Members of Sales Tax Task Force (Aug 04, 2011)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin has named three people to a task force that will study the collection, distribution and enforcement of municipal sales tax.

Fallin announced Thursday the appointments of Patrice Douglas of Edmond, Douglas Haines of Woodward, and Randy Ross of Choctaw to the panel.

The task force is charged with examining how the Oklahoma Tax Commission assesses, collects and distributes local sales and use taxes to cities and towns. The task force also will look at existing laws and rules of the commission.

Haines is the assistant city manager, chief financial officer and treasurer of Woodward, and Ross is the mayor of Choctaw and the executive director of the Oklahoma Accountancy Board. Douglas is the mayor of Edmond and the executive vice president of First Fidelity Bank.
