Crews Enhancing Checkpoint at Will Rogers Airport (Aug 15, 2011)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Will Rogers World Airport officials say a project to upgrade and enhance security in the terminal building will begin on Monday.

Airport officials say the west security checkpoint near the American Airlines ticket counter will close at 4:30 p.m. each day for the next two weeks to allow construction crews access to the area. The closure will include both the screening and exit lanes.

Officials say travelers leaving the airport after that time will use the east checkpoint located near the Delta ticket counter. Arriving passengers will leave the concourse through the east exit, located by Gate 24. The central exit will be closed.

Officials say the checkpoint will reopen at 4 a.m.

Work on the checkpoint is a part of a $2.3 million Transportation Security Administration enhancement project.
