Oklahoma Ranks 43rd in Kids Count Fact Book (Aug 17, 2011)

A closely watched annual survey on the health and well being of the nation’s children shows the number of Oklahoma kids living in poverty is up 16 percent since 2000.

Overall, the state is 43rd nationally in key indicators of child health and well-being in the 22nd annual Kids Count report.

The compendium released this morning by the Annie E. Casey Foundation found that home foreclosures also affected 35-thousand, that’s about three percent, of Oklahoma’s kids since 2007.
