State Dem. Chair: Perry in "Lock-Step" With Inhofe, Tea Party (Aug 29, 2011)

OKLAHOMA CITY - The leader of Oklahoma’s Democratic coalition criticized Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s visit Monday by saying the GOP presidential candidate is in lock-step with his host, U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK).

Oklahoma Democratic Party Chair and former Norman State Rep. Wallace Collins said in a statement the policies Perry outlined this afternoon are too far to the right for Perry to be an effective leader.

"[The policies] would wither away middle class security and independence, essentially end Medicare, cut K-12 education, eliminate hundreds of jobs, and wipe out investments in crtical programs that help create jobs," Collins said.

Collins called Texas’s economic climate a “tall tale” paid for by the middle class.
