Former Norman Police Chief Takes Job in Lindsay (Sep 02, 2011)

LINDSAY, Okla. (AP) — A retired police chief has been tapped to temporarily head another department in Oklahoma.

The Norman Transcript reports Friday retired Norman Police Chief Phil Cotten will serve as chief of police in Lindsay until the town can make departmental changes and hire a new chief.

Cotten says he's evaluating the seven-officer department and its facilities.

Cotten retired from his post in Norman this past spring. He joined the Norman police in 1973 and served as chief there for 15 years.

Keith Humphrey took his place as chief of police in Norman.
