Okla. Project Underway to Link Court Records (Sep 09, 2011)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma court officials say a $27 million project will give the public electronic access to court records in all 77 counties within the next few years.

Administrative Director of the Courts Mike Evans briefed lawmakers on the project Friday and says the integration of the systems currently is on schedule and under budget.

Plans call for Woodward County's court records to be converted to the new system next year, followed by Logan, Pottawatomie and Payne counties by spring 2013.

The appellate courts and Tulsa and Oklahoma counties are scheduled for completion in fall 2013. Evans said all 77 counties should be finished by fall 2015.

The project is being paid for by an increase in court fees approved in 2007. The fees are generating about $17 million annually.
