Reward Offered for Gun Used to Kill Okla. Girls (Sep 30, 2011)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is offering a $5,000 reward for a handgun authorities believe was used in the killings of two Weleetka girls in 2008.

OSBI officials on Friday said agents have determined that the serial number on the .40-caliber Glock 22 handgun is EKG463US. Officials said in a statement that the owner of the gun isn't suspected in any crimes, but they want that person to contact them at 1-800-522-8017. Investigators have been trying to determine who killed

11-year-old Skyla Whitaker and 13-year-old Taylor Paschal-Placker on a dirt road near Taylor's home in Okfuskee County on June 8, 2008.

According to an autopsy, Skyla was shot eight times and Taylor received five gunshot wounds.

Authorities have said one or two killers may have been involved.
