TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - The Chief-Elect of the Cherokee Nation announced Monday his inauguration will take place November 6th.

The ceremony for Bill John Baker will begin at 2 p.m. at Sequoyah High School. A statement from Baker says the event will focus on healing the Nation after a difficult election and making all Cherokees proud.

Former Oklahoma Governor David Walters will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.

Baker says for the first time, the three chiefs of Cherokee tribes will all be together for an Inauguration as Chief Michell Hicks of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and Chief George Wickliffe of the United Keetoowah Band join the program.
