Fallin Unveils "Oklahoma First" Energy Plan (Nov 09, 2011)
OKLAHOMA CITY - Governor Mary Fallin announced a new energy initiative for the state of Oklahoma Wednesday that will help to put more natural gas vehicles on the road and create a more energy-effecient state government.

The governor's program calls for a 2 percent reduction in energy usage by state agencies over the next several years.  It will also support the creation of wind power, and have a plan to turn veterans into workers for the energy industries.

The plan places emphasis on “production of traditional fossil fuels like oil and natural gas while complementing their use with renewable sources of energy like wind power,” according to the Governor’s release.
