Daycare Director Testifies at Okla. Judge's Hearing (Jan 04, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The director of an Edmond daycare center that cared for the adopted children of a state district judge says she has never heard of the judge or the judge's husband.

Kathy Garrison of Churchill Academy testified Wednesday at the preliminary hearing for Oklahoma County District Judge Tammy Bass-LeSure, who is charged with conspiracy, fraud and perjury.

Garrison says neither Bass-LeSure nor her husband, Karlos LeSure, ever called to express interest or concern about the children. She says the children were dropped off at the center and picked up each day by Ravonda Edwards, whom authorities have identified as the sister of Bass-LeSure's bailiff.

Bass-LeSure and her husband are accused of accepting payments from the state for the children even though they lived with Edwards, not the LeSures.

All deny wrongdoing.
