State Representative Mike Christian alleges misconduct by House (Jan 20, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Republican Rep. Mike Christian is alleging that Republican leaders of the Oklahoma House have inappropriately released his confidential medical and legal information. Christian made the allegation Friday in an email to members of the House that was also received by The Associated Press. Christian says the information involves a workers' compensation claim related to an auto accident he was the victim of in 2009. Christian says Republican House Speaker Kris Steele is responsible for releasing the information, an accusation Steele denies. An email from Steele calls Christian's charges "defamatory, libelous and completely untrue." Steele says no information about the claim has been released by the House and that it has never possessed any medical records about the case. Christian says he plans to ask for an investigation.
